Life is not all about work
Lesotho is a beautiful landlocked country in the middle of South Africa and it is also a great base to explore the whole of Southern Africa... Just hope we'll manage to find some time to do it!

a bit more Namibia...
A few more shots and moments from our trip to Namibia... Camille has told most of the story so I will just let the photos do the talking!
nightfall over the dunes...
not quite sure what Cam found there?
a desert beetle! These amazing creatures do a hand-stand to allow the mist to condense on their backs and then drip down to their mouths!
Not quite sure you can see it but there's a sidewinder snake in there...
They bite and they don't let go!
another type of desert animals...
not really proud of it... but it's fun! and we were reassured that on this part of the dunes it was OK!
Only wish we could get our own private lift on the snow as well!
Sand....
sand...
and more sand!
even more sand!
walking on the dunes top... early morning is great, but...
has its consequences!
Dead Pan... Unbelievable!
Kolmanskop the architects house... wonder if he's planned it?
You've got to admire the stupidy of some People! All the way from the other side of the atlantic to destroy a piece of heritage! Well done idiots!
as mentioned before, the architect's house... On millionaires' avenue! True he was one of the 4 richests people in town! those were the days...
you can't really beat nature.

A week in Namibia Part 2
Missing Norway...Pedro and I went sandboarding on the dunes. Snow is definitively better than sand.
On our way to the south part of the desert to see the red dunes. The only kind of billboard you will find around these parts.
Sossusvlei 6.AM to see the sunrise. This is the best moment of the day. Shadows are much nicer on the sand dunes and the heat is a lot more bearable (in fact it is even cold).

A week in Namibia Part 1
Two weeks ago, Pedro and I took a week of holiday. After three months of work it is not too bad...but we had an excuse. It was our first anniversary. So we drove to Namibia. Quite a long way away from Lesotho. We probably drove 5000kms, a new record, this including a few of them on sand or rocks...but this is the fun of having a 4x4. The whole experience was great but the best part of it was going into the desert.
Our first experience in the desert was a safari close to Swakopmund. We started as real tourist, taking a tour with a guy call Tommy. His speciallity is reading the 'bush man newspaper' meaning the tracks left by the animals. It doesn't look like it but there is a whole world of living things underneath this sand.
Look closer...a camelion.
Another type of animal.

Driving around here requires permanent attention because you could find any kind of animal on the road. Oryx, springboks,zebra....this time, we disturbed a herd of ostriches. Pedro likes them a lot...especially medium rare with potatoes.
